March 5, 2018 — (Charlottesville, Virginia) –Former News Center 7 anchor Ken Jefferson has died this weekend after a brief illness, according to WVIR-TV, the most recent news station where he worked in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Jefferson was an award-winning anchor and reporter at WHIO-TV for 25 years. He came to Dayton from Evansville, Indiana, after graduating from the University of Florida. He left Dayton in 2002 to join WWSB-TV in Sarasota Florida.  He then returned to Virginia to be closer to family and joined WVIR-TV in Charlottesville as the morning and noon anchor.

Ken a native of Richmond Virginia and was 65 years old.
