Dayton, Ohio(November 16, 2017) — National superstar Garth Brooks called in during the K99.1FM Cares for Kids Radiothon and made a stunning donation to the Dayton Children’s Hospital. Not only did he match a 30 minute time frame, but offered another match on behalf of his wife Trisha Yearwood totaling almost $50,000.
This is the second year that Brooks has called into K99 to make a personal donation to Dayton Children’s. This generous act allowed all contributions during that time to be quadrupled from $1 to $4.
When Garth and Trisha were in Cincinnati, they met with Nancy Wilson and Nick Roberts of the station where Garth discussed his passion for Dayton and Children’s Hospital. “He’s been very good to K99 and Dayton. It’s kind of mind blowing to think that one of the greatest entertainers in music history has that kind of connection to Dayton. ” said NIck Roberts, VP Marketing and Radio for CMG Ohio.
This is the 20th year of the Children’s Hospital of Dayton Radiothon and K99 has raised almost $4 million dollars in that time.
